Katie Whyte is a visual artist and creative producer, based in South-East Queensland, Australia. Katie is known for her use of colour and abstract forms in large-scale murals, studio painting and brand collaborations.

Emerging as an exhibited visual artist in the early 2000's Katie attended The University of Southern Queensland to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours). She is also a former optical vision therapist, completing theoretical study and clinical training in the improvement of visual perspective. After studying both vision and art, she views painting as a means of making sense of the world. In her work, she explores how art acts in a similar way to vision, by influencing our understanding of space and identity so that meaning can be drawn from our experiences.

Primarily practicing in painting and drawing in her home-based studio in Toowoomba, Queensland, Katie also specialises in large scale site-specific murals and public art. Occasionally she travels to share her experiences in the visual arts industry with school, communities, councils and individuals.
